Milton Named One of Canada’s Most Generous Communities in 2025

Milton has been officially recognized as one of Canada’s Top 20 Most Generous Communities for 2025, based on newly released data from GoFundMe.

Ranking 16th nationwide, Milton proudly stands alongside its Halton neighbours, Oakville (15th) and Burlington (19th), reinforcing the region’s strong culture of giving.

GoFundMe’s annual list is determined by the number of unique donors per capita on its platform. In 2025, generosity across Canada reached record levels, with an average of four donations made every minute, supporting causes ranging from healthcare and education to local initiatives and emergency relief.

While Victoria, B.C. secured the top spot for the third year in a row, GoFundMe highlighted a mix of returning communities and new entries in this year’s rankings.

“Every donation is powered by a deeply human story,” said GoFundMe CEO Tim Cadogan. “This year’s top communities reflect the best of humanity—friends coming together, strangers stepping up, and entire cities answering the call for help.”

Beyond the overall rankings, GoFundMe also identified key giving trends across education, medical needs, and emergency support, with Toronto leading the country in all three categories.
