A house fire in Milton Tuesday (Dec. 6) has left one person in hospital.
The blaze on Sherwood Road was reported just before 8 p.m.
Halton Regional Police and Milton firefighters were called to the fire and when police arrived, they were advised by neighbouring residents that there was still an occupant inside.
Officers entered the home and located a male on the second floor, and safely evacuated him outside, police said in a news release.
The male was conscious and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage sustained has not been determined at this time.
About a half-dozen fire trucks were reportedly on scene.
