With winter fast approaching, Conservation Halton is busy preparing for one of Milton’s most cherished seasonal traditions. Winterlit is set to return to Mountsberg Conservation Area from December 31 to February 16, bringing back its signature illuminated experience on select evenings.
Visitors can look forward to two glowing, one-kilometre trails featuring eco-friendly, nature-inspired art installations, cozy fireside lounges, a charming Book Nook, hands-on activities, and special Enchanted Evenings programming for New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day.
This year, Conservation Halton is adding fresh elements to the mix while keeping fan favourites.
“Every year, our team works hard to bring new creative visions to Winterlit—from LED-lit displays made with upcycled materials to engaging programming,” says Brenna Bartley, Manager of Education & Outreach. “We’re excited to launch our new Nature Nerd Trivia Nights on January 30 and 31, where guests can test their nature knowledge and even become ‘certified’ nature nerds. Activity fees help support Mountsberg’s Animal Care Fund and the care of our farm animals, raptors, and native snakes.”
Event highlights include illuminated trails, sustainable art installations, the beloved Book Nook, animal education programs at The Den, maple syrup tastings, and a variety of food and drink offerings. Additional paid add-ons include Art in the Park, Discover Owls Fridays, Stargazer Hikes on Saturdays, Beeswax Candle Making during Enchanted Evenings, and the new trivia nights. Kids 14 and under enjoy free admission on February 15 and 16 in celebration of Family Day.
Enchanted Evenings also return on December 31 and February 14, complete with live music, a licensed bar, and stunning fire and glow performances for those seeking a magical night out.
Tickets for all Winter lit dates, including Enchanted Evenings, are available online.
