Anti-Theft Tech Foils Daylight Lexus Theft at Milton Outlet Mall

A Lexus owner is likely breathing a sigh of relief after an attempted vehicle theft was stopped by an anti-theft device in a Milton mall parking lot.

According to Halton Police, around 11 a.m. on May 24, two suspects smashed the rear window of a Lexus SUV parked at the Toronto Premium Outlets on Steeles Avenue. However, their plans were quickly derailed — the vehicle was equipped with an immobilizer system, effectively stopping the theft in its tracks.

The suspects, both described as males dressed in all black, fled the scene. At this time, no additional descriptions have been provided by police.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information can contact police at 905-825-4777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
