Halton police are investigating a disturbing video that appears to show a male teenager being assaulted by a group of youth in Milton.
The nearly two-minute video, which has been widely shared on social media, contains violent content that MiltonToday has decided not to publish.
A Halton police media relations officer confirmed, “We are aware of the video and the matter is under investigation.”
The incident is believed to have taken place on the evening of May 16 outside a fast food restaurant in the FreshCo plaza at Louis Saint Laurent Avenue and Thompson Road.
The video begins with approximately two dozen youth surrounding a lone teenage boy. The footage, captured by at least one individual, includes background laughter from several girls as the victim is mocked, slapped on the back, and repeatedly had his pants pulled down by at least two teens.
The situation quickly escalates, showing the teen being shoved to the ground and then kicked in the head and body by five or six other boys.
The group disperses when a man exits the restaurant and shouts at them to stop.
At this time, there is no information available regarding the extent of the teen’s injuries.
“I was livid when I saw this,” a young woman told Milton Today after viewing the video. She did not witness the assault in person. “Nothing justifies the actions in this video.
