A Milton resident was robbed during a late-night iPhone sale arranged via Facebook Marketplace.
Halton Police Const. Ryan Anderson reported that the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, in a parking lot on Holly Avenue. The victim handed the phone to the buyer for inspection, but the buyer allegedly jumped into a black Acura SUV and sped away with the phone.
The suspect is described as a man in his mid-20s, approximately 5'7" tall, with a heavy build, brown hair, and brown eyes. Investigators suspect the Facebook profile used by the buyer was fake.
No arrests have been made yet. Police are urging residents to exercise caution during online sales and to use safe exchange zones when meeting buyers or sellers.
