“Milton Businesses Hit by Wave of Break-Ins: Cash and Groceries Stolen”

Halton police are investigating a string of three business break-ins that took place within just a few hours of each other early Friday morning (Aug. 22), leaving local shop owners shaken.

In each case, suspects smashed the front door glass to gain entry. The targeted locations were:

• Shawarma Royale (6020 Main St. W.) – around 4 a.m., where grocery products were stolen.

• Soghaat Sweets (500 Laurier Ave.) – sometime overnight between Aug. 21 and 22, where cash was taken from the register.

• Lebo Jewelry (15 Martin St.) – at approximately 5:10 a.m.; while entry was forced, nothing appears to have been stolen.

Police report that two male suspects, both wearing face coverings and dressed in dark clothing, were spotted at the Main Street and Martin Street incidents. No suspect descriptions are currently available for the Laurier Avenue theft.

Investigators are working to determine whether the three break-ins are connected. Authorities are also urging residents and nearby businesses to check security cameras for any suspicious activity that could help the ongoing investigation.
