The Town of Milton is all set to manage winter traffic safely. We're geared up to clear more than 1,615 kilometers of roads and over 250 kilometers of walkways and sidewalks.
When it snows, we'll deploy resources to clear Town roadways. In severe weather (20+ cm snow), response times may be longer. We prioritize plowing based on emergency routes, traffic, and road use. Residents can track snow removal using Plow Tracks.
Please be patient, give plows extra time, and plan for delays. Plow operators push snow to the road's right side to keep traffic clear, creating windrows at driveways. The Town doesn't clear windrows; it's the homeowner's responsibility. There's a removal program for seniors and people with disabilities. Residents can help by assisting neighbors in need. Cars left on the street hinder snow removal. Park off the road during snowstorms. Certain park lots will be maintained, providing an option for street parkers during snow removal suspensions. Parking is allowed for 48 hours. Clear your sidewalk and driveway promptly after snowfall. This helps everyone travel safely.
It takes time to clean up after a storm. Wait 24 hours after snowfall ends before reporting concerns. Your patience is appreciated.
