Milton Transit & Public Library Reunite for Another Chapter of the Read and Ride Program

Milton Transit and the Milton Public Library are bringing back the beloved Read and Ride program this summer, offering youth aged 16 and under the chance to ride Milton Transit for free!

📅 Program Dates: June 14 – August 30, 2025

Young riders just need to show a validated Milton Public Library card to the bus driver for unlimited free travel across town. Starting June 14, you can pick up your validation sticker at any Milton Public Library branch—just stick it on your library card and you’re good to go!

📚💬 “Read and Ride reflects our shared goal of supporting youth through greater access to learning and community spaces,” says Sarah Douglas-Murray, Chief Librarian & CEO of Milton Public Library. “This program helps young people reach the library, explore Milton, and make the most of their summer with ease and freedom.”

🎉 Kickoff Celebration Join us on June 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library (1010 Main Street East) for a special launch event! There’ll be family-friendly fun and a scavenger hunt aboard a Milton Transit bus.

🚌 “Milton Transit is excited to bring back the Read and Ride program this summer,” says Tony D’Alessandro, Director of Milton Transit. “It’s a great way for youth to explore our town, enjoy the convenience of public transit, and connect with all the amazing resources the library offers.”

Don’t miss out—grab your library card, get your sticker, and ride into a summer full of books and adventure!
