SCAM ALERT: Milton Fire & Rescue Warns of Fraudulent Donation Calls

Milton Fire & Rescue Services is warning residents about a scam involving fake phone calls asking for donations in the department’s name.
📢 These calls are not authorized by Milton Fire & Rescue or the Town of Milton.❌ The department does not request donations via phone, email, or door-to-door visits.✅ All legitimate fundraising efforts will be announced through official Town or Fire Department channels.
“It’s disturbing that a scam would target our fire service to exploit Milton’s community spirit,” says Deputy Chief Gord Fowler. “Let’s stay vigilant so we protect ourselves and our neighbours.”

If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and do not share any personal or financial information. Suspected fraud should be reported to the Halton Regional Police Service at 905-825-4777 or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or online.
