SUV Driver Critically Injured in Serious Three-Vehicle Collision in South Milton

A serious three-vehicle crash in south Milton last night left one motorist in critical condition and two others with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to early reports from Halton Regional Police, the collision occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Regional Road 25 between Henderson Road and Lower Base Line. A southbound tractor trailer, driven by a 70-year-old man from Brampton, struck a northbound black SUV operated by a 22-year-old Burlington man.

Following the impact, the tractor trailer veered into the west ditch, where it collided with a blue pickup truck — also travelling southbound — driven by a 23-year-old Burlington man. The force of the secondary crash caused the pickup to strike a hydro pole, which broke and became lodged in the front windshield of the tractor trailer. Both southbound vehicles came to rest in the ditch.

The SUV driver sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby trauma Centre, while the drivers of the tractor trailer and pickup truck were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Regional Road 25 remained closed for several hours as the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) conducted its investigation and crews worked to clear the scene.
