Wallet stolen at Milton gas station, cards used for multiple purchases

Halton police are searching for a suspect involved in the theft of a wallet in Milton on Tuesday night (Jan. 21).

According to Halton police media relations officer Jeff Dillon, the wallet was likely stolen around 8 p.m. during a stop at the Esso gas station located at 6788 Regional Road 25.

Shortly after the theft, the stolen credit and debit cards were used at several locations, with total purchases amounting to less than $5,000.

At this time, police have not released a description of the suspect, and the investigation is ongoing.
