Weekend Snowstorm Hits Halton Region – Snowfall Totals & Next Forecast

Halton Region is clearing up after a snowstorm that dropped at least 19 cm of snow, according to Environment Canada. Oakville recorded the most snow, with similar amounts expected in Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills.

The storm started on Saturday, Feb. 8, and lasted into Sunday, which led Environment Canada to issue a snowfall warning after initially providing a snow advisory.

More snow could be coming mid-week, with forecasts predicting snow from Wednesday night into Thursday. In the meantime, occasional flurries are possible, and temperatures will be around seasonal levels—highs near -1°C during the day and lows around -10°C at night.

Here are the snowfall totals from the weekend storm, as of Sunday morning (Feb. 9), with Oakville seeing the most snow:

  • Toronto downtown: 13 cm

  • North York (Ontario Storm Prediction Centre): 12 cm

  • Brantford: 11 cm

  • Hamilton Airport: 10 cm

  • Mount Forest: 10 cm

  • St. Catharine's Airport: 9 cm

  • London Airport: 9 cm

  • Richmond Hill north: 8.5 cm*

  • Welland: 7 cm

  • King City: 7 cm

  • Delhi: 7 cm
