A 42-year-old Milton man faces fraud, possession and money laundering charges after Halton Police say they broke up a scam that tricked telecom customers into handing over new smartphones and tablets.

Halton Police allege a Milton man is behind a string of copper thefts that knocked out phone and internet service across Milton and Halton Hills; he now faces eight charges.

Police have released an image of a suspect vehicle wanted in connection with a June 24 hit-and-run that left a motorcyclist hospitalized at Regional Road 25 and Etheridge Avenue.
