16-Year-Old Arrested After Knife Discovered During Altercation at Milton Plaza

A Milton youth is facing charges following a fight that broke out Monday morning, Nov. 24, at a local shopping plaza. Halton police responded to the Fresh co parking lot on Louis St. Laurent Avenue around 11:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a group of teens involved in an altercation, including one allegedly carrying a knife.

When officers arrived, the teens scattered, prompting a brief search. Police soon located the teen suspected of having the knife hiding in the Starbucks washroom within the same plaza. The 16-year-old was arrested without incident and has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police confirmed that no serious injuries occurred during the fight. The charge has yet to be tested in court.
