A huge congratulations to the Milton Sikh Society for hosting an outstanding Sikh Heritage Month proclamation event today! This gathering not only celebrated the rich contributions of the Sikh community in Milton but also reinforced the timeless values of Seva (selfless service), unity, and resilience that define Sikh heritage.
Founded in the 15th century by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sikhism is rooted in equality, compassion, and selfless service—principles that continue to be embodied by the dedicated Sikh community in Milton. From Langar (free community kitchen) to charity drives and social outreach, Sikhs have played an essential role in fostering kindness, generosity, and inclusivity within our town.
Milton is truly fortunate to have a thriving, fast-growing Sikh community that actively contributes to the well-being of all residents. Today’s event was a powerful tribute to the history, traditions, and lasting impact of Sikhs in Canada and beyond.
A big Thank you to all the politicians and leaders who showed their support for this important event! Your recognition and encouragement help strengthen the bonds of diversity and community spirit in Milton.
Let’s continue to celebrate, honor, and learn from Sikh heritage—not just this month, but always!
