MILTON — Halton Regional Police Service say a 25-year-old therapist has been arrested after allegedly assaulting two children with autism during therapy sessions in Milton, Ont., and investigators believe there could be additional victims.
Police say the applied behaviour analysis therapist has been charged with six counts of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault causing bodily harm.
Investigators say the case began after a complaint was received regarding a therapist at the Milton location of Spectacokids, which provides behaviour, speech and occupational therapy services.
According to police, the therapist allegedly assaulted two children with autism while alone with them during sessions at the facility.
Halton police say their child abuse and sexual assault unit led the investigation, which resulted in a total of eight charges against the 25-year-old.
Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information to contact police.
