Milton Casino Funds Deliver $500K Boost to Local Community Programs

Over the years, the Milton Community Fund has invested millions of dollars into local organizations, helping strengthen services and programs across the town.

In 2025 alone, the fund awarded a total of $536,668 to 52 not-for-profit organizations, supporting initiatives that provide artistic, cultural, and recreational opportunities for Milton residents.

This year also marked a significant milestone—the 25th anniversary of the Milton Community Fund. Since its launch, the program has distributed more than $8.4 million to community groups throughout Milton. Mayor Gord Krantz highlighted the long-standing impact of the fund and its role in supporting local organizations.

“For a quarter-century, the Milton Community Fund has helped local organizations deliver programs that strengthen our community and create opportunities for residents to learn, participate, and connect,” said Mayor Krantz in a news release. “We are proud to support these recipients and the positive impact they’re making in Milton.”

The Milton Community Fund was established by Milton Town Council to distribute a portion of the revenues received from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk.

This year’s intake saw strong interest, with 61 applications submitted, including 10 first-time applicants, reflecting the growing demand for community-based support.

Some of the largest grant recipients in 2025 include:

  • Halton Healthcare Services Corp. — $33,059 to support the purchase of a micro laryngoscopy set and laryngoscopy set

  • Halton Agricultural Society — $30,000 (full eligible funding) for capital improvements, including roof spray sealant for Barns 1 and 2

  • Milton Marlin Swim Team — $25,000 to assist with touchpads and plungers

  • Navy League of Canada (Milton Branch) — $15,068 for cadet parade boots and winter jackets

  • United Way Halton & Hamilton — $30,000 to support community programs across Milton
