The Town of Milton says its overnight parking pilot program will continue as a way to ease pressure on residential streets in a rapidly growing community.
Launched in June 2025, the pilot offers approximately 400 overnight parking spaces across 15 municipal parks, serving as a temporary solution as neighborhood density rises and transit usage continues to evolve. Town officials say the selected locations were based on factors such as parking ticket volumes, zoning for accessory dwellings, and balanced geographic coverage across all four wards. Demand for the program is expected to increase again this spring.
Designated overnight permit locations by ward:
Ward 1: Brian Best Park (North and South), Bronte Meadows Park, Scott Neighborhood Park (East Lot), Sherwood District Park Ward 2: Clark Neighborhood Park (North and South), Laurier Park, Lions Park (East Lot) Ward 3: Beaty Neighborhood Park (South Lot), Coates Neighborhood Park (North and South), Cobban Neighborhood Park Ward 4: Ford Neighborhood Park, Milton Community Park, Optimist Neighborhood Park, Sunny Mount Park, Willmott Neighborhood Park
Permits are priced at $60 per month and are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Permit holders can park overnight at any designated park location, provided they do not have any outstanding parking violations. The Town notes that the fees help cover enforcement, signage, software, and administrative costs, with enforcement handled by its parking contractor. Apply here.
Town staff say they will continue to monitor data and gather community feedback throughout the year before deciding on any long-term parking solutions.
