What began as a frightening morning for several Milton residents has resulted in a 31-year-old local man facing multiple criminal charges. According to the Halton Regional Police Service, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to reports of a man acting erratically in the area of Leger Way and Whitlock Avenue.
Police say the suspect was attempting to enter passing vehicles. One resident later shared on Facebook that the man stood in front of their vehicle — while two children were inside — yelling, “GET OUT OF THE CAR.” The driver was able to safely leave the scene. A 911 call later confirmed that several other residents reported similar encounters that morning.
In one instance, a driver stopped and was allegedly pulled from their vehicle. The suspect then drove away in the stolen vehicle before being located and stopped by officers a short time later on James Snow Parkway.
A 31-year-old Milton man was arrested and charged with:
• Motor vehicle theft with violence• Theft of a motor vehicle• Operation while prohibited• Dangerous operation• Failure to comply with a probation order
The charges have not yet been tested in court.
