A wave of disbelief swept over Steven Brownridge as he checked his lottery ticket on the OLG app. It took a few extra scans to turn his skepticism into pure excitement.
Six-figure wins have a way of making reality sink in a little slower.
"I couldn’t believe what I was seeing at first and must have checked my ticket three more times to be sure. I was stunned," said the Milton retiree, recalling the moment he realized he had won $100,000 in the Feb. 5 OLG Encore draw.
A dedicated lottery player for nearly 40 years, Brownridge has seen his fair share of wins, though none have come close to this life-changing amount.
Now, with a hefty windfall in hand, he’s setting his sights on a well-deserved vacation and possibly upgrading to a new vehicle.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Food Basics on Guelph Street in Georgetown.
