Milton Teen, 14, Charged After Knife Discovered Following Starbucks Altercation

A Milton teenager is facing multiple charges after a disturbance at a local coffee shop on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026.

Halton Regional Police were called to the Starbucks at the intersection of Main Street and Tremaine Road at approximately 4:15 p.m. following reports of a male possibly carrying a firearm, according to media relations officer Ryan Anderson.

Police say the youth allegedly lifted his shirt during a confrontation with another individual, revealing the handle of what appeared to be a weapon. Officers quickly responded and, after investigating, determined the 14-year-old was in possession of a large knife.

The teen was taken into custody and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as well as carrying a concealed weapon.
