Missing Hamilton Man Possibly Spotted in Milton

Hamilton Police are still trying to find 62-year-old John Edwards. He was last seen on June 11, 2025, after leaving St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas.

Mr. Edwards has memory problems like dementia, and police are very worried about his safety since he has been missing for a long time.

Police have followed many tips, checked security videos, and looked into reported sightings, but most have not led anywhere. The last confirmed sighting of Mr. Edwards was on June 11 just after 4 p.m. He was seen walking south on Milgrove Side Road near Highway 6 in Hamilton. A few minutes later, a camera caught him walking west on Concession 5 West toward Carey Road.

A new tip from Milton suggests that someone who looked like Mr. Edwards was seen walking along the pipeline trail between Bennett Boulevard and Thompson Road South around 11 a.m. on either Friday, June 20 or Saturday, June 21. The exact date isn’t clear, but the time is similar in both reports.

Even after going door-to-door in the area, no one has come forward with helpful video or new information.

Mr. Edwards is not carrying a phone, money, or ID, which makes it very hard to track him. His movements also seem random. Police do not believe he is in danger from someone else, but the hot weather makes the situation more serious.

Police are asking people to check security or dashcam footage from these places and times:

  • June 11, after 4 p.m. – Concession 5 West between Milgrove Side Road and Brock Road, Flam borough

  • June 20 or 21, between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. – Pipeline trail between Bennett Blvd and Thompson Rd South, Milton

What Mr. Edwards looks like:

  • White man, 62 years old

  • 5 feet 11 inches tall, about 214 pounds

  • Brown shoulder-length hair, brown eyes

  • Walks with a bit of a shuffle

  • Might be holding a small, light-colored ball

  • Last seen wearing baggy shorts, a striped blue t-shirt, white socks, running shoes, and maybe a ball cap
