There's a new sign up in Milton.
PETA has put up a memorial billboard to remember the chickens that died in a recent crash on Highway 401.
“Each chicken that died in this crash was a living being that felt pain and fear. The surviving chickens deserve better than to end up in a slaughterhouse,” said PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA asks everyone to go vegan to help save animals from such deaths.”
The crash happened on Wednesday, July 10th. While the police didn't say how many chickens died, they confirmed that animal welfare officers were at the scene.
The billboard is at the intersection of James Snow Parkway and Main Street East, near the plaza.
