The Town of Halton Hills is inviting residents to honour veterans and their families through a series of Remembrance Day parades and ceremonies organized by local Royal Canadian Legion branches.
Events will take place in Acton, Glen Williams, and Georgetown from November 8 to 11, featuring parades, services, and moments of silence at cenotaphs and Remembrance Park.
This year’s observances are being led by the Acton Legion (Branch 197) and Georgetown Legion (Branch 120), which are welcoming community members to come together in remembrance of those who have served Canada.
Remembrance Day will be officially observed on Tuesday, November 11, with ceremonies in both Acton and Georgetown starting at 10:45 a.m.
In Milton, a parade is scheduled for Sunday, November 9. It will begin at the Milton Legion on Charles Street and proceed to the Victoria Park Cenotaph next to Town Hall, followed by a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Attendees are invited back to the Legion afterward for refreshments.
Milton’s annual Remembrance Day Ceremony will also take place at Evergreen Cemetery on Ontario Street on Tuesday, November 11, beginning at 10:45 a.m.
