We thank our school crossing guards for their commitment to helping our students and their families.
It is School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day throughout Halton!
Schools throughout the region are expressing their gratitude for the workers who help keep children safe in the communities.
If you want to show your appreciation for crossing guards today, here is a list of ways to do so from the Halton Catholic District School Board:
When the guard signals you to stop, all cyclists and drivers must stop.
Understand and follow the posted speed limits, especially in school zones.
Always check before turning at intersections.
Remain stopped until all pedestrians and the guard have cleared the crossing. This is the law.
Do not drop off children in no stopping and no parking zones.
If you spot a crossing guard today, be sure to thank them!
