Updated: Sep 28
Milton Baithak organized its first meet-and-greet event for candidates participating in the Ward 4 municipal election. Mr. Zee Hamid, one of the candidates for Mayor of Milton, also attended the event.
The gathering was open to the general public and was held outdoors on a residential street in Milton.
The event was hosted by Mr. Umair Shirazi, CEO and founding member of Milton Baithak. As an IT specialist and community organizer, Umair created this gathering to give Milton residents an opportunity to meet local candidates, learn about their priorities and raise important community concerns.
Many prominent members of the Milton community attended alongside local residents. Most Ward 4 Town Councillor candidates were present, as well as candidates for Regional Councillor and several candidates from other wards.
Each participating Ward 4 candidate was given an opportunity to introduce themselves and present their priorities directly to residents. Mr. Zee Hamid also raised several important issues affecting Milton.
Following the introductions, members of the public asked questions and spoke directly with the candidates. Refreshments were served after the formal portion of the gathering, allowing candidates and residents to continue their conversations in a relaxed environment.
Mr. Asif, representing Community TV, was also present to cover the event.
